That’s A Wrap . . .

Since we have been busy doing many vehicle wraps recently, I thought I would talk about the basics of an effective vehicle wrap.  Simplicity is the foundation principle of a great wrap.

Who, What, How & Why questions are a great starting point -

Who is doing the advertising

What is being sold

How do people contact the business

Why should people call

While this may seem elementary, I see many wrap designs that make this information hard to find or don’t include it at all.

Captain Cash Flow

Unlike the popular children’s cereal that is sweet and tasty in the morning, going through a cash crunch is anything but sweet.

This last year has certainly caused quite a few “cash crunches” for many small businesses. Cash crunches attack productivity and limit valuable advertising & marketing opportunities.  Here are some tips that can increase cash flow:

Detect any “leeches” hiding in your accounts.  Late fees that can be avoided with a simple change of scheduling for paying accounts, automatic payments for items that are no longer being used (i.e., web addresses, web services, etc.), annual fees on credit cards that can be negotiated all play into leeching much needed cash from your accounts.

Business Cards Talk . . .

We have been taught the importance of first impressions from childhood yet one area that I routinely find that we overlook is our business card.

Our business card is a silent yet powerful communicator of who we are and what we do.

What is your business card saying about you?

If that question caused you to blush, I have some simple remedies to help you go from ordinary to extraordinary.

Gold Rush

Thanks to Discovery Channel’s show Gold Rush, mining for gold has once again gained in popularity.  I regularly find myself checking in with Todd Hoffman and the boys to see their progress in the pursuit of the American Dream.

Todd’s adventures in gold mining reinforce some foundational principles in the pursuit of wealth and the building of our businesses.

Planning is critical. During the Hoffman’s first season, numerous days of productivity and money were lost due to the absence of a plan. Mark Twain once said, “Failing to plan, is planning to fail.” While Todd may have had a plan in his head, his failure to write the plan down and solicit the team’s input undermined his effort.  The process of putting the plan down on paper exposes potential flaws, creates a team mentality and provides the energy for people to stay motivated.
